I like this article because it talks about how the decisions of CEO Reed Hastings affected the opinion of consumers who were loyal to the company, resulting in the 800,000 lost subscribers. Although that was only .03% of their subscriber base the hardest affect of this was to the faltering confidence of their investors. 23% stock loss is nothing to ignore. Netflix’s folly is DISH Network’s gain and only time is needed to build the capitol in Blockbuster for the right positioning. I look forward to when streaming is offered to non-DISH customers because then the media will really have something to talk about. Right now I’m benefiting having an employee HD DVR receiver because the streaming for the Blockbuster Movie Pass will be streaming right to my receiver. Netflix has fewer DVD’s to choose from and they come out to rent 28 days later than Blockbuster which people like about Blockbuster too.
